When Jack was seeking Chicago exhaust repair, he turned to Openbay to assist him with finding a reliable auto repair shop. Here’s his story of his experience, and why he’ll continue to use Openbay for all his future repairs.
Where do you live and what type of car do you drive?
I live in Lisle, IL, a suburb of Chicago, and I drive a 2007 Nissan Murano.
How did you find Openbay?
I initially found Openbay through a Google search. I was in need of exhaust repair, and since my dealership service center doesn’t specialize in exhaust, I decided to look elsewhere.
I was drawn to Openbay because of the ease of comparing quotes from local shops. Usually, I end up shopping around to different shops, and it ends up being a real hassle. To not have to do all that leg work, made it easier to look around and get more options with less work for me.
Prior to Openbay, how did you find auto repair shops near you?
In the past, I would have used the phone book or Google, and then I’d go in to the various shops and talk to the people individually. It would take a lot of time. Working with Openbay meant I didn’t have to go out shopping around Chicago from one muffler shop to the next muffler shop.
I’ve spent 40 years in the auto business, working at a dealer. If I’d needed warranty work, I knew the best dealer to go to, but I know exhaust isn’t a dealer’s specialty, and they would have sent me to a chain.
How was the experience with the shop?
I was really happy with the shop, AAMCO Transmissions. They knew about my appointment, and expected me when I went in.
I selected that shop for three reasons:
1) they were prompt in confirming the appointment, which I really liked
2) it was close to me
3) price was fair
Has Openbay delivered as you had expected?
Overall I think Openbay has been absolutely terrific. What I find is it just makes it so much easier. It delivered better than expected.
Would you book with the same mechanic again, and if so, would you do it through Openbay?
Yes, I would go back to that shop. And I would book with Openbay again because I really liked the way you handled things.
