The New York Auto Show is a huge hit every year. It’s a great excuse for us to head down from Openbay’s HQ in Cambridge, MA and enjoy a couple of days in Manhattan. Prior to the show’s press days, we had some huge news, as you’ve surely seen, and it got a great response from the press. Mission accomplished!
The day after our big news, OpenbayConnect, broke, we hit the NY auto-show floor to ogle some of our favorite cars and connect with friends in the auto industry. Rather than focus on attainable cars, we went big-style, dreaming of the fastest, most furious and priciest cars we wanted to get our hands on. Here’s a peek at our top picks.
First, let’s check out the Italians –
Maserati
What the Quattroporte lacks in affordability (it clocks in around $107K), it makes up for in practicality. With four doors and available all-wheel drive, it may as well be considered a utility vehicle. No wonder their sales are going bananas.
This GranCabrio MC is a divine reminder to live life to the fullest. Convertibles are great reminders to seize every single sunny day (at least to those of us in the northeast).
This 460hp GranTurismo MC looks like it’s begging for speeding tickets.
Lamborghini
Lamborghini showed off its goods off-site, away from the crowd of the Javits Center. What was beneath the silk? The 700hp Pirelli Edition Aventador, welcomed by Lambo’s and Pirelli’s CEOs.
Alfa Romeo
Alfa had a display of old and new Alfas, reminding everyone of its pedigree. Our favorite? The 33 Stradale, of which only 18 were built, though we imagine 4c might be more fun to drive. Or at least safer.
Until the next post (coming soon) on the NY Auto Show, drive safely!
