(NECN) – Openbay, a company that uses technology to help find the best price for car repairs, launched Monday.
CEO Rob Infantino says the app and the website helps consumers get their car repaired locally.
“The whole system is based around finding trustworthy mechanics, looking at their ratings and reviews, location to the consumer and then essentially booking an appointment and then we handle all the payment processing as well,” he says.
Infantino says price isn’t always the deciding factor for customers, though.
“What we found is consumers aren’t making a decision based on price. It’s really convience and getting a quality mechanic, so what we’re seeing is that sometimes the low price doesn’t necessarily win the deal,” he says.
